I'm reaching out because I've recently rediscovered my original Nintendo 3DS that I've had for about 15 years. After a long search for it, I was so excited to find it in great shape. However, when I closed it for a moment and then opened it again, I noticed that the screen had suddenly popped out, causing the frame near the hinge to lift. I've tried looking online but can't find any information about this issue. I'm really concerned about the potential for further damage. Any advice would be appreciated! Here are some pictures of the problem: [pics](https://imgur.com/a/w1ZEPCq).

This is actually a pretty common issue with the 3DS. A lot of users face problems with the hinges breaking or the screen popping out. Unfortunately, it sounds like the hinge assembly is broken. You'll need to replace the shell and hinge to fix it properly.
That's such a bummer! I know how much those old consoles mean. It might look like the hinges are fine since you can still open and close it, but the internal mechanisms could be damaged. You might want to look into some repair guides or consider a replacement if it gets worse.
