Hi everyone! I'm having a problem with my HP Pavilion 14 laptop. It was working perfectly a few days ago, but suddenly it stopped charging. When I plug it in, the battery percentage remains the same and doesn't increase at all. However, if I unplug it, the battery level starts to drop. I ran the HP diagnostics tool, and it indicated that the battery has failed and needs to be replaced. The weird part is that my laptop is only 1.5 years old and still has 81% battery capacity left. I'm really worried because it's currently at 19%, and I don't want it to die completely and not boot up again. Can anyone please help me out?

It sounds like the battery controller has flagged your battery as toast. I’d suggest planning on replacing it soon. It's unfortunate since the laptop is relatively new!
What does FUBAR mean? I’ve never heard that term before.
It means 'Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition.' It's just a way of saying it's really messed up.
Would you know what might have caused this sudden failure?
Not really sure, but batteries can fail unexpectedly sometimes. It might just be one of those things.
Hey! You might want to try unplugging the battery and see if your laptop boots up just with the wall charger. Sometimes that can help isolate the problem without completely losing everything.
Is it safe for me to power it down for a few days while I wait to replace the battery?
