My Laptop Won’t Turn On After a BSOD, Any Suggestions?

I was trying to use Efiguard to install Windows on my Lenovo G580 when I ran into a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). Now, when I try to turn on the laptop, it doesn't show anything on the screen at all. I'm looking for any possible fixes. Just to note, I might have some typos since I'm originally from Russia and English isn't my first language. I'd really appreciate a solution rather than jokes about the situation!

It might help to disable hibernation or fast boot features if you have them enabled, as they can cause startup issues like this. You can also try accessing the BIOS by pressing a specific button (often marked with a small 'U' shape) when you turn it on. If that doesn't work, try hitting F2 repeatedly as it boots up—sometimes that can get you into the BIOS menu.

I tried pressing that button and hitting F2 a bunch of times, but nothing happens. It looks like an upside-down U and doesn't seem to respond at all.

First off, it sounds like you really did a number on it! To get to the root of the problem, you need to check for any crash logs called dump files. If you can boot into Windows or get into Safe Mode, go to C:WindowsMinidump to see if there are any files there. If you find any, zip them up and share them so we can help you figure out what went wrong. If there's no visible folder, you may need to follow this guide to change the dump settings to capture better logs next time.

If the screen is completely blank and the laptop just shuts down after a while, you might want to try booting from a USB drive and reinstalling Windows. That could overwrite any issues that occurred during the initial setup.
