Which GPU Should I Choose for My Next Build?

I'm in the process of selecting parts for my next PC build and need some advice. I have two options, both priced similarly, but they have different GPUs and components. The first build costs €2200 and features a Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16GB GDDR6, paired with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, which is known for its gaming prowess. The second build is slightly pricier at €2500 but comes with a bundled 1440p monitor, and it has an ASUS NVIDIA Geforce 5070 Ti along with an AMD Ryzen 7 9700X CPU. I'm mainly looking to game and stream at 1440p.

Can anyone help me understand if it's better to have the 5070 Ti with slightly slower RAM and CPU, or if I should go for the faster components in the first build? How much of an impact would these differences make in gaming performance and beyond?

I'd suggest checking out the PSU that comes with the second build. A good power supply is crucial, and if it's not solid, that could sway your decision towards the first build. Otherwise, make sure the PSU is from a reliable brand and not just a budget option.

Based on my research, the RX 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti are pretty comparable in performance. However, the 9800X3D really shines in gaming tasks. If gaming is your main focus, I'd lean towards the first build, unless you're specifically looking for features like DLSS or AI capabilities that the NVIDIA card offers. Overall, build one seems like the better option for your needs.

Yeah, the 9070 XT has decent ray tracing and upscaling options, but the support for it isn't as strong compared to NVIDIA's tech, mainly because folks are more familiar with DLSS. If you're streaming, though, the NVIDIA NVENC might give you better performance, so it really depends on your priorities.

I think if gaming is your primary concern, build one is definitely the way to go. The 9800X3D is really renowned for gaming performance, and the difference in GPU performance between the 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti isn't that substantial at 1440p. The additional €300 for a monitor you already own doesn't seem justified unless it’s a significant upgrade.

When it comes to the RAM speed, the difference between 6000MHz and 5600MHz is minimal, especially for gaming. What really matters is whether your activities benefit more from the 9800X3D's higher gaming performance or the features offered by the 5070 Ti. Plus, the NVENC technology from NVIDIA is still considered superior for streaming.

Build 1 caters better to your gaming needs. Since you already have two monitors, you could save those funds for future upgrades. The 9800X3D is slightly better, and the RAM speed advantage is negligible. Only consider the second build if you absolutely need NVIDIA features for streaming.
