I'm in a bit of a bind here. My laptop started acting weird last week; it shut off when I unplugged it, so I left it plugged in. Now it won't turn on at all, whether it's plugged in or not. The power light comes on for a few seconds like it's about to boot up, but then it just goes dark. Of course, this is happening right during finals week! Any advice on what I should do?

Could you let us know what type of laptop you have? If it’s a Windows machine, try holding down the power button for about a minute while it's plugged in and also when it's unplugged. This might help reset some issues you’re facing.
I see you're using a Gateway laptop. It’s a bummer that didn’t work! Have you tried removing the battery (if it’s removable) and then holding the power button for about 15 seconds? Sometimes that can help reset everything.
