I recently upgraded my new HP laptop with a 1TB M.2 drive, but Linux Mint isn't detecting it at all. It doesn't show up in the disks utility either. I've checked the BIOS settings, but I can't find anything useful. Is there a way to get it recognized?

Another option is to simply reinstall Linux Mint. Sometimes a fresh install can resolve these detection issues!
If the drive isn’t appearing, it could be because your laptop is using Intel fake RAID instead of AHCI mode. Some HP models have an option for this in their BIOS settings, but not all do. If you can't find it in BIOS, you might need to switch it in Windows. Try searching for how to disable Intel RST on HP systems.
Double-check a few things: Does the drive show up in the BIOS/UEFI menu? Make sure you save any changes after checking it. You can also open gParted to see if the drive is detected there. Sometimes, it just needs a little nudge to show up!
Try running a couple of commands to see if your system can find the drive. Use `fdisk -l` and `lsblk` in the terminal to check for it. You might also want to look at the kernel logs by typing `dmesg` to see if there are any clues. If all else fails, booting from a different Linux live USB could help you find the drive there.
