My Monitors Aren’t Getting a Signal After CPU Change – Help!

I recently switched out my CPU for a new one, but realized I needed a new motherboard since the chipset wasn't compatible. So, I put my old CPU back in for now, but now my monitors aren't receiving any signal from my PC. Here are my specs: MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus Motherboard, 32GB DDR4 RAM, Ryzen 5 5600x CPU, RTX 3080 GPU, and an 850W PSU. I've tried reseating the RAM sticks, power cycling, ensuring the GPU is properly seated, and clearing the CMOS. I've also tested my HDMI cables and monitor with my Xbox, and they work perfectly. Any ideas on what else I can do to fix this?

If you only removed the CPU and put it back without disconnecting anything else, check to see if any pins got bent or broken when you were putting it back in. That can definitely cause signal issues with the monitors.

Yeah, I think bent pins might be the problem for me too.

Have you tried resetting the CMOS battery? There are plenty of guides on YouTube that can walk you through it. It might help get your system back to recognize the components properly.

I haven’t tried that yet, I just used the button on the motherboard. I’ll give that a shot now.

I had the same issue before; resetting the CMOS worked wonders for me.
