I was trying to fix the scroll wheel on my mouse and accidentally lost a plastic part my cat decided to stash away. Ever since that piece went missing, the sensor has been acting up and now it doesn't work at all. Am I in trouble here? Is there a way to fix this?

That plastic piece is essential for the LED functionality of your mouse. Without it, it’s like trying to use a camera minus the lens—it just won’t work right. You’ll need to find that part or consider getting a new mouse if it remains lost.

If it's the big clear plastic part, then definitely. I had a similar issue, and it was tricky to fix without that piece.
