I just built a new computer and when I try to turn it on, it doesn't boot. The motherboard lights up and the RAM shows activity, but I'm stuck. I've already updated the BIOS and cleared the CMOS. Here are the components I used:
- CPU: AMD 9 9900X3D
- Motherboard: Asus Rog Strix x870E-E AM5
- Memory: Corsair Vengeance 64Gb DDR5-6000 CL40
- Storage: Samsung 9100 Pro 4TB
- Video: Nvidia FE GeForce RTX 5080
- PSU: NZXT C1200 80+ Gold
I'm looking for any ideas or suggestions to get it working!

Check the little display on the motherboard for any error codes. It's usually in the top right corner. If you see a code, you can Google it for more clues on what's wrong.
Make sure you're using the right HDMI port. If it's plugged into the motherboard, try connecting it directly to your GPU instead. Also, boot with just the essential components connected—one RAM stick, CPU, and power supply.
Can you post a picture of your motherboard setup with the GPU removed? It might help others see if something's off. Also, double-check all your power connections.
If it's a brand new build, it might take a minute before it posts for the first time. Disconnect the GPU, connect the monitor to the motherboard's video output, and make sure the right input source is selected on your monitor. Walk away for a moment and see if it boots up!
