My New GPU Isn’t Outputting a Signal—What Should I Do?

Hey everyone, I just received my new GPU, a 5070 ti, from an online order. After unpacking it, I installed it without any issues. However, when I connected it with an HDMI cable and powered it on, my monitor didn't detect any signal, and it won't post. I've tried some troubleshooting steps like reseating the RAM and power supply, as well as swapping out HDMI cables, but nothing seems to work. To check if the problem lies with my setup, I tested an older 2070 super from my previous PC, and it posted just fine. The fans on the 5070 ti are spinning, so it seems to be functioning, but I'm worried it might be defective. Can anyone help me figure out what's going wrong? If it turns out to be faulty, is it possible to return it and get a replacement under warranty?

Make sure you've updated your BIOS to the latest version. That's often a common fix for issues like this one—new GPUs might need the latest BIOS to function properly. If you haven't done that yet, I'd recommend trying it.

Can you update the BIOS without having any display from the GPU? That might be tricky if the screen isn't showing anything.
