I'm having a huge issue with my notebook. It seems that the BIOS has become corrupted and now my laptop won't turn on at all. I've played around with the BIOS settings, and now I'm stuck. I'm feeling really desperate and could use any help to get it back up and running!

It sounds like your BIOS might be soft-bricked. If you changed some hidden settings, that could be the reason for the issue. Try doing a quick reset: remove the charger and battery (if possible), then hold down the power button for about 30 seconds. This often helps reset the embedded controller which might clear out those faulty BIOS settings. After that, see if it powers back on with just the charger connected!

Have you considered doing a CMOS or EC reset? It’s pretty easy! For your Acer Aspire A315-58, hold down the power button for 30 seconds after unplugging everything. If that doesn’t work, check for a small reset button on the bottom—some models have that and it can help. Just use a paperclip to press it for 15 seconds while everything's unplugged.

Also, if you flashed the BIOS recently, sometimes that can lead to issues. A more complex option is to do a Crisis Recovery using a USB stick, but it's a bit advanced. Just let us know how it goes, and we can help you through it!

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to try those resets and see what happens!
