My PC Freezes During Certain Games – Need Help Troubleshooting

Hey everyone! I recently built a new PC and I'm encountering a frustrating issue where it hard freezes while playing specific games like Tales of Arise and Elden Ring. Before the freeze, my peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headphones, and gamepad) shut off for a moment. When it freezes, my monitors become almost completely unresponsive, and I can't reconnect any devices, forcing me to power down my PC manually. This problem doesn't seem to happen during stress tests or when performing other tasks, like browsing or rendering. I've run memtest, checked hardware connections, changed SATA cables, and even reinstalled Windows, but I'm still facing the freezes. My temps have changed a bit after a BIOS update, and I'm worried it might lead to long-term damage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 9700x, Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, and 16GB Kingston Fury RAM, among others.

Make sure to check for any dump files in your Windows folder. Those can give you important clues for troubleshooting any BSODs or issues you're facing. If you find any, upload them and let us know what they say.

Try disabling any Nvidia recording features like Instant Replay. They can sometimes cause crashes during gameplay due to high resource usage. Also, ensure your drivers are up to date; that could help as well!

You should definitely check your GPU temperatures. Overheating can lead to these kinds of freezes during gaming. Make sure your cooling is adequate, and if the temps are too high, consider cleaning out dust or improving airflow in your case.

I checked the temps for it on HWMonitor and they seem okay under load. Might not be an overheating issue then.
