I'm experiencing a serious issue with my PC. While I was gaming, it froze completely and I couldn't even turn it off using the power button; the only way to shut it down was to flip the PSU switch off. Here's what I'm working with:
- Motherboard: Asrock B850 PRO-A
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- GPU: Geforce RTX 4070
- PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-850
Now, when I try to start it, the power-on self-test (POST) lights show orange, there's no display on my monitor, and while the top and front case fans are spinning, the CPU and back fans aren't. The GPU lights and fans are working fine though.
So far, I've tried reseating the RAM (even testing one stick at a time) and unplugging and re-plugging the GPU and boot drive. After removing the CMOS battery for a bit and reapplying thermal paste, I made some progress but still encounter the same issue: the CPU and back fans aren't spinning, the light is still orange, and I get no visual feedback. I'm at a loss for what to do next. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I've decided to send back the CPU and motherboard to the store as a last resort; thanks for your advice!

It’s good that you’re still within your warranty period! If you can, talk to your supplier and see if you can get a replacement or possibly even a different motherboard. Sometimes, that can resolve compatibility issues, especially with certain models.
You should check if there are any debug lights or displays on your motherboard. They can often indicate the source of the problem. Typically, these lights are located at the top right corner of the board.
It sounds like your CPU might be fried, which unfortunately happens sometimes. I’ve had similar issues with AMD CPUs before, where the motherboard can get damaged and affect them. There are reports from other users where the same model motherboard caused issues with their CPUs. You might want to investigate that further.
I found some helpful links about this! You can check out some user reports and tutorials on YouTube that might give you more insight into this problem.

I noticed that. The debug lights are shining solid orange, but they're not blinking at all.
