My PC is Crashing to a Black Screen—What Could Be Wrong?

Hey everyone! I've been dealing with a frustrating issue where my PC suddenly crashes to a black screen, but the fans keep spinning and I can still hear sounds from it, particularly when USB devices connect or disconnect. This began a couple of months ago, and I initially thought it was due to unstable Nvidia drivers, so I rolled back to version 366.36. Unfortunately, the problem persists. It doesn't always happen under heavy load; in fact, it seems to occur more often when I'm just on the desktop, though that might just be coincidence. I've run stress tests on my system without any issues, making me doubtful that it's a power supply problem. The Windows Event Viewer logs a bunch of "nvlddmkm" errors each time it crashes, but I'm not sure that points to a driver issue. Recently, these crashes have become more frequent, leading me to suspect it could be a hardware problem with my GPU. I'd really appreciate any insights you all might have!

Here are my specs:
- CPU: R7 5800x3D
- GPU: RTX 4070 (MSI)
- RAM: 32GB Kit
- Mobo: B550 MAG Tomahawk (MSI)
- SSD: Kingston NV3 (2TB)
- PSU: Rm750e (Corsair)

Hey! It looks like you've been using driver v366.36, which is pretty outdated. If it works with that driver but not with newer ones, it could indicate that your GPU is starting to fail. Make sure you keep an eye on it, and don't ignore those 'nvlddmkm' error messages, they can be a sign of underlying issues with the GPU.

Thanks for that! I’ll keep an eye on it and update my post with the specs I initially forgot to include.
