My PC Keeps Crashing When Downloading Games, Help!

I've been having some serious issues with my PC lately. Everything was fine until one day I tried to download a game from the Epic Games Store. I managed to download all the files, but when it comes time for file verification, my PC crashes. This problem has spread to all stores; now my PC crashes every time I try to download a game or extract a file. However, all the games I already have installed work perfectly fine. I've tried various solutions I found online, but nothing has worked. When my PC crashes, I get a black screen accompanied by various error messages, like KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (0x7A), UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION (0x154), and CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF). It's really confusing because sometimes it works without issue. For instance, I was able to install Discord and Valorant without crashing, but when I tried to install Fortnite, my PC crashed during file verification, and the crash happens at random percentages, like 20% or 50%. Here are my PC specs: Intel i7-10700k, Nvidia RTX 3060, 16GB RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD from Gigabyte.

Have you checked if this might be related to overheating? Sometimes, issues during downloads can trigger system instability. Make sure your cooling system is working properly, and try monitoring your temps while you're downloading games. Also, running a memory test could help rule out issues with your RAM, since crashes can sometimes relate to that.

Yeah, making sure your fans are clean and functioning can really help. Also, you could try running a stress test on your CPU and GPU to see if they are performing well under load. If not, you might have to look into replacing thermal paste or even investing in better cooling.

It sounds like a driver issue might be at play, especially with the errors you're seeing. Have you tried updating your graphics and chipset drivers? Sometimes a bad driver can lead to those crashes. Also, check your disk for any errors; a corrupted file on the SSD could be causing the verification crashes.

I haven’t updated the drivers in a bit, so I’ll definitely give that a shot. I’ll also run a disk check to see if there are any issues with my SSD. Thanks for the tips!
