I've been dealing with a frustrating issue for about a year now: my PC keeps restarting unexpectedly. It usually happens when I start to play a game, but sometimes it restarts out of nowhere. Initially, I thought changing my power supply would solve the problem, and it worked for a while after I swapped it out in January 2025. However, the problem has returned. I'm wondering if another component could be causing this restart issue. It doesn't make sense to me how changing the PSU helped temporarily but now I'm back to square one. My drivers are up-to-date, and I'm fairly confident that overheating isn't an issue. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming B550M-ZAKU (with Wi-Fi)
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo RGB DDR4 3600MHz
- PSU: XPG Core Reactor II | 850W | 80+ Gold | Modular | ATX 3.0/3.1
- GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar issue years back, and the problem turned out to be a faulty CPU fan header. My CPU was overheating, which caused the restarts. You might want to check your CPU fan and its connections.
Have you enabled XMP in your BIOS? Sometimes, the RAM speed can cause instability. Make sure XMP is on, and if you haven't already, check for any BIOS updates that might help.

I just checked, and it's enabled. I'm using D.O.C.P since I'm on AMD. I’ll also look into updating the BIOS. Thanks for the tip!
