I've been having this annoying issue with my PC since I built it in 2018. It shuts down semi-regularly, and the only way I can get it back up and running is by messing with the 24-pin power cable. When it shuts down, it seems like a partial shutdown—I can hear it still working, the RAM LEDs are on, but the fans don't power up and nothing appears on the screen. The only consistent fix I've found is to fiddle with the 24-pin connection. I've tried unplugging and reconnecting it properly, but obviously, that's not a long-term solution. Has anyone else experienced this issue? What's a more permanent fix?

It sounds like there might be an issue with your PSU or motherboard. Have you replaced either of those in the last seven years? Sometimes, a faulty power supply can cause intermittent issues like this. When you plug in the 24-pin cable, make sure it clicks completely into place; that little clip should secure it nicely. If it’s not clicking, it might not be seated properly or could be worn out. You might want to consider looking into those components more closely.

Yeah, I never replaced those parts either. I've moved a few times, so I don't think it's the wiring in my place. And when I plug the 24-pin cable in, it does click, but maybe not securely enough?
