Hey everyone! This week I tried to turn on my PC, but the power button didn't respond at first. I pressed it harder, and eventually, it turned on, but now I'm having to press multiple times for it to work consistently. I've checked to make sure that the cables are secure and not loose, so I'm a bit stumped. My case is a Fractal Design Pop Air Tower, and I'm hoping you can help me figure out what's going on with the power button.

It sounds like the power button might need some repairs or even a replacement. The button's mechanism varies by case, but sometimes it just gets worn out or stuck. You might want to look into that as a potential fix.
Have you spilled anything on your PC or used any cleaning agents that might have gotten into the button? Any buildup can definitely cause intermittent issues. If cleaning doesn't work, replacing the switch is straightforward and cheap!
Try doing a classic jump start by touching a screwdriver to the two pins that lead to the power button, but make sure to unplug those wires first. If your PC starts right up that way, then the button is most likely the culprit.
It could be dirt caught in the mechanism. Remember, it’s a push button, not a traditional switch. The wires from the motherboard connect when you press it. If it’s not working well, the flexible metal part might just need some cleaning or adjusting. It’s usually easy to repair; just check for any obstructions.
