My PC Powers On But Won’t Connect to Keyboard, Monitor, or Mouse – What’s Going On?

I recently upgraded my PC hardware, swapping in a B450 motherboard, an RTX 4060, and an AMD Ryzen 5 5500. Just yesterday, while on a call with friends, it suddenly shut down. Interestingly, my brother's PC crashed too, but his rebooted fine. I checked the PSU, which is rated at 650W, and that seems sufficient. I've already troubleshot the RAM sticks and GPU, but no luck. I can't remove the CMOS battery since it's locked in place, though I tried clearing the cache with a screwdriver, which didn't help either. Now, when I power it on, I can only turn it off using the switch on the back. The monitor, keyboard, and mouse are all connected correctly and were working just fine prior to this issue. Any ideas on what's wrong?

When you say the only way to turn it off is using the back switch, does that mean holding down the power button on the case or shutting down through Windows doesn’t work? That might indicate something more serious going on with the connection or maybe even the motherboard itself.

Exactly! I can't connect anything like the keyboard, mouse, or monitor, and holding the power button does nothing either.

Have you tried removing the RAM to see if the motherboard beeps or shows any lights? Sometimes that can give you an idea of where the issue might be. If your motherboard doesn't have troubleshooting LEDs, that could make it trickier to diagnose.

No beeps or flashes from the motherboard when I tried that. Seems like it doesn't have those features.
