I recently installed a kernel-level anti-cheat program and it prompted me to restart my PC. After the restart, my computer got stuck on the motherboard login screen during boot. I accessed the BIOS but chose not to change any settings and just exited. This led my PC into repair mode, which eventually allowed it to boot up, but now everything is running incredibly slow. The system seems to be indexing about 6000 files, my SSD is maxed out at 100%, and programs like Discord and Google are showing corrupted installations. It's a complete mess. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? What can I do to fix it?

Honestly, it might be best to just reinstall your operating system and avoid installing that anti-cheat again. I have no idea why it caused such an issue, but it sounds pretty messed up.
You should try turning off the search indexing service from services.msc to see if that helps. Also, consider using other tools like Everything or Flow Search Toolbar for searches; they're usually faster anyway. And for future reference, always create an OS-level backup before messing around with kernel stuff.
