I left my PC running while I took a nap, but during that time, there was a storm that caused a power outage for about an hour. When I woke up, my PC was off, and now it won't turn back on at all. I press the power button, and nothing happens — no lights on the motherboard or anything. I've tried resetting the CMOS battery, unplugging it and holding the power button for 30 seconds, and a few other things, but still no luck. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Power surges can be brutal! If you don’t already use one, getting a surge protector or an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) can save your hardware in the future. The PSU is usually the first to go, but sometimes motherboards can fry too.
First things first, try plugging your PC into a different power outlet. Sometimes the outlet could actually be the issue. Also, check if your power supply unit (PSU) has an on/off switch. If things still don't work, it might be time to test with another PSU.
You're likely looking at a burnt-out component, most probably the PSU. You might want to get a professional to check it out, or at least look for any burn marks on the PSU and other components. If it is the PSU, replacing it might just do the trick.
Have you checked if the outlet works by plugging in something else? It could just be a dead outlet or a blown fuse. If it’s not that simple, unfortunately, it might be one of your components got fried.
It sounds like something may have shorted out. A similar thing happened to me when lightning struck nearby — my PC sparked, and while it started again, my graphics card ended up fried. I really hope that's not the case for you!
