A week ago, I accidentally spilled water on my unplugged PC, and after letting it dry for a day, I plugged it back in, but it wouldn't turn on. After a lot of troubleshooting and using a repair kit I ordered from Amazon, I switched the GPU to a different slot, and it worked! However, after tightening a few screws and the case fan (without changing anything else), it stopped turning on again. I also added another RAM stick, but it still won't power on, even if I remove it. What could be causing this issue?

It sounds like your situation might be a bit tricky due to the liquid involvement. When submerged, components can corrode over time. The best first step is to disconnect everything, including the power. Use at least 70% isopropyl alcohol to clean all connectors and slots gently. A soft bristle toothbrush can help with this, but be careful not to scratch anything. After cleaning, let everything sit out to dry completely—maybe use a fan to speed up the drying process. Once it's dried, rebuild your system without the GPU first. If it boots using onboard graphics, then reconnect the GPU in a different slot if needed. The original slot might be damaged, so it's worth trying the alternative one.

Is it supposed to turn on with the GPU being out?
