I'm having trouble getting my PC to turn on for the first time. I've connected everything except for the PC fans, which I need a 4 pin PWM female-to-female adapter for. Here are my specifications:
- GPU: XFX Speedster SWFT210 Radeon RX 7600
- Storage: Timetec DDR4 3200MHz PC4-25600
- RAM: DDR4 3200MHz 16GB
- Case: Dragonfly II Mesh GM740
- Motherboard: A-520M Pro
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5500 plus cooler
- Power Supply: A550BN 550W, 80 Plus Bronze
I've double-checked all the connections, including the USB buttons and mic jack, but the PC still won't turn on. There's no sign of life—no fan movement or motherboard lights. However, I did test the power supply (PSU) with the paper clip test, and that worked. The PSU is making a weird noise that sounds sort of like a baby sucking on a pacifier, just high-pitched and fast, but it's faint. I'm really worried that something might be wrong, and I want to avoid spending money on replacements if my parts are still good. Any advice?

It sounds like your power supply might be the culprit, especially since it's making unusual noises. Just because the PSU spun up during the paper clip test doesn’t guarantee it’s functioning properly across all outputs. I suggest you avoid powering it on again to prevent any potential damage to your other components.

So should I just go ahead and replace my power supply? If so, any recommendations on what to look for?
