I've got a PC that I've been using for about 4 years, primarily for browsing and watching shows. Recently, it started having some issues. When I try to restart it immediately after turning it off, it won't boot back up unless I leave it off overnight. A couple of weeks ago, after a break, it shut down suddenly while in use. I managed to turn it back on, but it shut down again, and this time, it wouldn't start at all until the next day. I replaced the PSU thinking that might be the problem, but even with the new one, the PC only stayed on for about 10 minutes before shutting down again. I've been using the old cables from the previous PSU, which I worry might have caused the new PSU to fail as well. When I performed a paperclip test on the new PSU, the fan didn't start, but I did hear some clicking noises. I'm stuck on what to do next. Should I try another PSU replacement with the correct cables or could there be another issue, like with the motherboard? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked the temperatures of your components? Especially the CPU! Sometimes, if the cooler is failing, it could lead to thermal shutdowns, which might be what you're experiencing. If that’s the case, replacing the cooler could solve the issue.

Good point! But if it's a cooler issue, wouldn't it just cause throttling and not prevent the PC from starting at all?
