My Sapphire 9070 XT Won’t Display, Could It Be Dead?

I'm having a tough time with my Sapphire 9070 XT graphics card. After installation, everything lights up fine, but I'm getting no display at all. I've plugged in my HDMI and tried both HDMI and DisplayPort cables, but my screen stays blank. I even uninstalled the previous drivers for my old 3060, and that one works perfectly fine, so I'm feeling super stressed about this because I spent nearly a grand on the new card. Is there any chance my 9070 XT is dead, or is there something else I might be missing? Any help would be appreciated!

Make sure you’re supplying enough power. If you have an 8-pin to dual 6-pin adapter, you might actually need to run separate cables from your PSU to fully power the GPU. Also, consider booting into BIOS during startup to check your settings!

I had no idea I needed to run two cables! I thought just the adapter was enough.

It might be worth trying a clean install of the drivers using DDU. Sometimes new cards can be DOA, but there could be a software issue too. Just play it safe first and check the drivers!

Check out some troubleshooting steps: 1) Use DDU in safe mode for a full driver clean-up. 2) Try another cable; it might be a bandwidth issue. 3) If it displays properly in BIOS after the driver install, then it could be a Windows/software glitch. Also, update your BIOS and ensure resizable bar is on—it might just do the trick!

Check if your CPU has integrated graphics! If it does, use that while keeping the 9070 XT installed. It might help Windows recognize the card if there's an issue there. I've seen a lot of this with new cards lately – no display but they’re actually functioning!

Unfortunately, I don't have integrated graphics since I'm using a 5800X.

Have you tried the GPU in another computer? If you have access to another setup, it’d help narrow down whether the card is really the problem.

I only have this PC.
