I'm having trouble with my Lexar SSD. Sometimes Windows recognizes it and sometimes it doesn't. It is initialized and showing as online, but it's labeled as a generic loader SATA device. I'm considering connecting it to another PC to see if it works there. What should I do if it does work somewhere else? What could be the issue with my SSD?

This sounds like it might be a failing device, especially since it’s acting up. Make sure to back up anything you want to keep, just in case it gives out completely! How old is it? You mentioned it’s only around 4 months old, which is pretty recent for an SSD to start failing.
You’ll want to connect it to another computer and transfer the important files over. If it stops working, you might lose everything!
It seems like your SSD or the reader could be malfunctioning. If it works on another PC, it could be a driver issue on your main one. But if it’s still problematic, it’s likely the SSD itself. Be proactive and back up your data before it quits on you completely!
How do I back up everything, though? And what’s this about a SATA port issue?
Back it up by transferring files to another drive. And yes, a SATA port issue refers to the port on your motherboard where the SSD connects. Sometimes those can be glitchy.

I’m not super sure how to back up stuff. Any tips?
