Why are my monitors not going to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity?

Hey everyone! I've got a new QD-OLED monitor for my setup alongside two regular monitors, and I want to avoid burn-in, so I set my Windows 11 to put the monitors to sleep after 15 minutes of inactivity. However, I'm noticing that they often take longer than that to actually go to sleep. For example, I timed it, and it took 22 minutes after I stopped using the keyboard and mouse. This seems to happen consistently.

When I set the sleep timer to just one minute for testing, it works fine, but whenever I switch it back to 10 or 15 minutes, the delay returns. I checked the power settings using the command `powercfg /requests`, but I'm unsure if something in the output could be causing this issue. I did notice Discord and a few things listed under the System section, but I expected the monitors to not sleep at all if those were problematic. I also disabled Nvidia High Definition Audio in the device manager, which was previously preventing the monitors from sleeping. Any advice on what might be going on? TIA!

It sounds like a power plan setting might be messing with your sleep timers. Try going to your advanced power settings—just type 'power plan' in the start menu, then select 'edit power plan.' Look for the multimedia settings and change the 'shared media' setting from 'prevent idling to sleep' to 'allow the computer to sleep.' While I’m not sure if this directly affects monitor sleep, it’s worth a shot!

Thanks for the suggestion! I made that change and tested it three times. The first two times, the monitors did actually go to sleep at the 15-minute mark. But on the third try, they still didn’t sleep as expected.
