I'm a new business owner and pretty clueless about anything web-related. I had a developer from Upwork create a WordPress site for me, which initially seemed great, but now it's down and I can't reach him for help. I'm looking for advice on where to find someone who can fix it quickly and ideally help build a better version on a different platform later. Should I just go back to Upwork for this?

The problem isn't necessarily WordPress itself; it might be because you're not familiar with the platform or the developer might not have done the best job. Have you considered that issues could stem from bad coding or plugins? Maybe try disabling some plugins if you're able to access your site?
That might be true! I just know every time there's an update, it seems to cause a mess.
WordPress can be perfectly fine as long as it's maintained properly. How much are you spending on support? Also, do you know where your site is hosted? Sometimes moving to simpler platforms like Wix or GoDaddy can save you hassle in the long run since they offer tools for non-techies to manage their sites easily.
I think GoDaddy is a decent option, but some people have strong opinions against it!
Exactly! It's usually not all about WP, but the setup itself.
