I'm trying to build a PC but I need some help narrowing down my parts. My current budget is $1,000, but my cart has added up to about $1,300. The priciest item is my memory card, and I'm looking for recommendations on a better, more affordable option that's still compatible with my other components. Here's what I have in my cart so far:
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 Pro 70.7 CFM CPU Cooler
- Corsair Vengeance RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory (this is the most expensive part)
- Samsung 990 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
- Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 9060 XT 16 GB Video Card
- NZXT H5 Flow (2024) ATX Mid Tower Case
- NZXT C850 (2024) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

I want to note that finding 32 GB DDR5 RAM under $385 is tough. If you’re looking to drop your budget by that much, DDR4 could be the way to go. I paid $320 for the same spec RAM that’s now priced at $480—definitely keep an eye on prices, as they fluctuate a lot!
You might want to look into downgrading your RAM. Lower MT/s kits can be cheaper and still perform well for gaming. Sometimes sticking with a reliable DDR4 setup can save a lot.
Thanks for this advice, I’ll check it out!
Consider going for an AMD AM4 system instead of AM5; I just built a similar setup for my girlfriend. She used a 5800 XT and an A550 board with 32 GB of DDR4 RAM. You could save significantly by choosing DDR4, and that could free up cash for a better graphics card like the 9070 XT, which will boost your performance. Also, I recommend checking out AIO coolers, as they can be more effective than air coolers.
Thanks for the tips! I didn’t realize I could save so much by switching to DDR4.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It helps put things in perspective.
