Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my Ryzen 3800x, which I'm currently using in a Biostar x370gt3 setup with 32GB of RAM and an RTX 3080 Ti. I'm torn between getting a Ryzen 5800x or the 5800xt, as they're both priced the same. Alternatively, I'm considering an Intel option—should I go for the 12600kf or the 14600kf along with a B760 DDR4 motherboard to keep using my existing RAM? I'm mainly focused on gaming but also want a processor that's going to be relevant for a few years. Any recommendations?

I hear you on wanting a long-term solution! The Ryzen chips are great, especially if you're already in the AM4 ecosystem. If you're serious about gaming and potential future-proofing, leaning towards either 5800 option might be the safest bet. Also, the new Intel 14th gen is looking promising, so if you can stretch the budget a bit for the 14600kf, that could also be a fun ride!
It really depends on what you're looking to prioritize! If gaming is your main focus, both the 5800x and 5800xt are solid choices, but the 5800xt might give you a bit more longevity. However, if you're leaning towards Intel, the 12600kf is a fantastic option and offers great performance too. Just keep in mind that switching to Intel means you'll need a new motherboard as well. Think about where you want to go in the future with upgrades!
Thanks for the insights! I really want something that’ll last me a while, not just a quick fix.
