Hey everyone! I run a website with around 30,000 albums, each housing about 150 images. That means I have around 4.5 million images in total, but since I'm storing both full-size images and thumbnails, we're looking at roughly 9 million files. My site gets about 3,000 to 4,000 visitors daily. Right now, I'm using a budget VPS to host the full-size images, and while CloudFlare helps by caching a lot of requests, this VPS has been pretty unreliable lately. So, I'm considering switching to an Object Storage solution.
I've looked into a few providers: Wasabi, Backblaze B2, and Hetzner Object Storage. I need a space for around 1.5 TB of data right now, but if it speeds up my site, I may also move the thumbnail images there too. Most of my visitors are from the EU, so I'd love to hear opinions on these providers or suggestions for any other options available in the EU. Thanks!

If you want tailored advice, I suggest reaching out to Hetzner’s sales team. They might come up with some custom solutions for your needs!
Have you checked out tebi.io? They’re EU-based, a smaller company, but seem really simple and easy to use for object storage.
I’ve actually had some issues with Hetzner Object Storage. There have been outages lasting several hours since they launched, so I wouldn't recommend them despite being a happy customer for their other services.
I recently did some digging into these options. Personally, I'd go for Hetzner, even though they have some limits to be aware of: max 100 buckets, 100TB per bucket, and 50 million objects per bucket. Their storage costs around 0.6 cents per GB, so for your 1.5 TB with about 1 TB of traffic, it would be roughly €11 per month. Wasabi would be around €25 more for the same setup, so it’s a pretty solid choice budget-wise!
Wasabi does seem more predictable; I think they charge about €14 for 1.5 TB and don’t have any extra fees beyond storage.
I’m not too sure about going with a smaller company for something as crucial as this. They could be less reliable.
