I'm new to building PCs and I'm currently waiting on some parts to arrive. So far, I have a 4080 Super GPU, a 9800X3D CPU, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6000MHz, along with a ProArt PA-602 case. I'm trying to figure out which motherboard to choose and I've been leaning towards an X870-E, but I'm unsure about the various models available. I've heard that more expensive options like the ROG Crosshair Hero are good for overclocking, but I'm not sure if they're worth the cost. Also, I'm contemplating whether to go for an AIO CPU cooler versus an air cooler, and if I should add extra case fans for better cooling. I apologize for all these questions, but I really want to understand if a pricier motherboard is justifiable for my intended use—especially when it comes to overclocking. Thanks in advance for the help!

Honestly, you might find that a motherboard under $200, like a B850, could perform just as well for gaming without all the extra features you won't use. If you’re just gaming, a higher-end motherboard may just be a waste of money since the real performance won’t be that different. It's usually more about the connectivity options on the pricey boards. If you're not planning major upgrades, a solid B850 will do the trick—keep it simple!

Thanks for your perspective! Is the BIOS experience similar on those cheaper motherboards compared to the pricier ones? I mostly plan on gaming, so it’s good to know I might not need to spend extra.
