Need Advice on My 5080 Build – Any Upgrades or Changes?

I'm working on my 5080 build and I'd love some feedback! My budget is $2000, not including the graphics card, which I've already bought. I'm curious if there are any upgrades or changes you'd recommend. I know Intel's been getting some negative attention lately, but I've always had good experiences with their CPUs in my previous builds. So, I'd prefer to stick with Intel unless there's a compelling reason to switch. Thanks for your help!

Since you're focusing on gaming, you can cut down your RAM from 64GB to 32GB and use the savings for upgrades elsewhere. Honestly, nobody can say for sure if the 14th gen fixes are actually working without a year or two of use. Going AMD, like the 7800X3D or 9800X3D, seems like a smart choice given their support for another 2-3 years. If you end up with the Ryzen chips, try out the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 for an air cooler—it’s a great option!

That totally makes sense! I’m leaning towards switching to an AMD chip since it seems like the common advice. I’ll check out the Thermalright coolers too. Thanks for the insights!

If you’re set on an i9, just a heads up, you might want to invest in a water cooler. On the flip side, if you go with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the Peerless Assassin cooler works well with it!

I’ve been hesitant about water coolers. Everyone seems to love them now; maybe it’s time I try one!

Be cautious with high-end 14th gen Intel CPUs; they've had significant issues and many people are recommending against them. You might want to consider the AMD 9800X3D instead for a more reliable option.

Definitely steer clear of those 14th gen Intel chips!

Thanks for the tip! I heard some fixes were made, but are AMD CPUs noticeably different in everyday use? Like, would I feel any major difference compared to Intel?
