Hey everyone! I'm feeling the need to upgrade my PC since I built an i9-9900K setup seven years ago and added a 3080 Ti about four years back. It's starting to show its age, and I'm aiming for max graphics at 4K gaming. I'm considering my current build and need some input. I'm planning to go with a Zotac for now but might grab a 5090 FE or a white card when it comes on sale (looking to stay under $2,400).
I'm also replacing AIO fans and stuck between the Tryx Panorama and Galahad II. Any thoughts on these? Also, managing RGB across different ecosystems (iCue for RAM and others) – is it complicated?
About the power supply, is the Lian Li Edge PSU good enough? Are there any specific needs for the fans that I should be aware of? I'm doing LCD fans for the sides and back, and non-LCD ones for the top AIO and other areas. I'd love to get your feedback and any suggestions you might have!
Here's a brief overview of my planned build:
1. Ryzen 9 9950x3d
2. Asus x870E Crosshair Hero
3. Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x-64GB (6000/CL30), possibly upgrading to 2x-96GB
4. TBD 5090 Card
5. 9100 Pro 2TB
6. 990 Pro 4TB
7. Lian Li - 011D RGB
8. Lian Li - Edge 1300 80 Plus Platinum
9. TBD AIO cooler
10. Various Lian Li Uni Fans
For the fans, do I need a splitter or something else beyond the controller they come with? Is my intake/exhaust setup suitable for my case? I just want to keep the RGB controls streamlined, as I struggled with iCue before. And I'm looking to make this build future-proof so the only part needing replacement in the next 7 years would be the graphics card. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

If you're mainly gaming, I'd recommend the 9800X3D over the 9950X3D. The 9950 works fine most of the time but can act up with some indie games, and optimizing it can be a pain. The motherboard is definitely overkill for gaming; put that money into a faster RAM kit instead, like a 6000 CL26, for some extra FPS.
For the AIO, try going with a newer Lian Li model to keep your software management seamless. The Galahad is decent, but there are better options available now. I use OpenRGB for all my lighting and have it set up to load my preferences at boot, and then I use L-Connect for my fans to keep everything in check.
Thanks for the advice! Can you elaborate on the 9950X3D issues? I'm focusing on AAA titles, so would the switch really make a difference?
