Hey everyone! I'm a complete newbie and I'm trying to put together my very first PC build, but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, especially when it comes to choosing the right GPU. I've been following this forum for a while (and you all are amazing!), and I want to create a budget-friendly setup that can handle 1080p gaming. I play games like Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3, and some lighter stuff like Valorant.
Here's what I've planned so far:
* CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
* RAM: 16GB DDR5 5200MHz
* Monitor: 1080p, 144Hz
* Budget for GPU: I'm looking for something entry-to-mid-range, something that won't break the bank but still performs well.
I'm considering options like the RX 7600 or RTX 4060, but I'm unsure which would be the best fit for my build. I've heard good things about the RX 7600 for 1080p, but I'm a bit concerned about potential AMD driver issues and missing out on DLSS. Is ray tracing worth it for a budget build, or should I just prioritize pure performance? Also, with newer GPUs like the RX 9070 available, do you think older cards like the RX 6700 XT or RTX 3060 are still viable options if I find them used?
Any advice on picking a GPU or tips for my build would be super helpful! I really don't want to mess this up, lol. Thanks a ton!

For a budget build, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is a solid choice—it's considered the sweet spot right now and performs well if you can grab it at around $370. If that's a bit steep for your budget, keep an eye out for the Intel Arc B580; its MSRP is about $250, but it can be tricky to find at that price since it often runs closer to $270.
Yeah, the RX 9060 XT 16GB is a great card. If you're willing to bump the budget a little, the 5060 Ti 16GB and 5070/9070 models offer even better performance, but they will come at a higher cost.
Thanks for the suggestions! The 9060 XT 16GB seems like a solid option for now. The 5060 Ti sounds great too, but I think the 5070 might be out of my price range right now. I’ll stick with the 9060 XT for now, but thanks again!
For a mid-range 1080p, 144Hz build, consider using an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X and RAM like the Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5-6000, 64GB (2x32GB) if your budget allows. For GPUs, the RTX 4070 (16GB) or RTX 5070 Ti would be excellent choices, along with the RX 9060 XT (16GB).
This build looks fantastic! The Ryzen 7 7700X and the Trident Z5 Neo RAM are awesome picks. By the way, do you have any monitor recommendations that would pair well with this setup? I'm looking for something around 1080p, 144Hz, but I'm open to suggestions! Thanks for your great recommendations!
Thanks for the info! The 9060 XT 16GB looks like a great option if I can swing the budget. I'll definitely consider the Intel Arc B580 if I need to save some cash. Really appreciate your help!
