I own an HP Envy x360 convertible 15 cn1073wm and I'm on the hunt for a new battery. My current battery is the HP LK03XL Li-ion rechargeable one. It's written on the battery that it operates at 11.55Vdc with a capacity of 4350mAh, but there are also figures like 52.5Wh and another mAh number at 4560mAh. I'm a bit puzzled about what mAh means in comparison to Wh and how important these numbers are when choosing a new battery. Is it okay if I find batteries with different mAh like 4323mAh or 4500mAh? I want to make sure not to harm my laptop since I rely on it heavily for work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you divide the Wh by the voltage, you can find the mAh. Since both batteries show mAh, just compare that. As long as voltages match and the new battery physically fits, higher mAh is always better for battery life.

Consider getting an external hard drive to back up everything you cherish on your laptop. When choosing a new battery, ensure it fits your laptop, has the right connector, and the Wh or mAh ratings are equal to or higher than the original.

For the best results, go to a retailer that specializes in your laptop brand and look for a compatible battery directly from their site.

The mAh and Wh describe the battery's size and runtime. If your laptop originally ran for about 6 hours, stick to a battery with similar capacity to maintain this. Higher numbers mean more runtime, while lower capacities will decrease it.

The mAh and Wh are both crucial for understanding battery capacity. mAh refers to how much charge the battery can hold, while Wh indicates the total energy available. When replacing your battery, just ensure the voltage (V) matches your original and try to stick close to the Wh. A slightly higher mAh or Wh (like 4500mAh or 55.2Wh) should work fine and may give you a bit more battery life, as long as the voltage is correct. Always check compatibility with your laptop model too!
