I'm helping a friend troubleshoot an issue with their media editing PC. It was left on 24/7, and recently, it started rebooting itself unexpectedly. I ran Memtest86+ to check the RAM, and it shows no issues. However, when I attempt to install Windows 11, it fails to boot after installation, getting stuck on the "getting ready" screen. After a few reboots, it leads to automatic repair, which doesn't resolve anything. Interestingly, I can install Windows 10 without any hiccups. I've also swapped the SSD thinking it might be faulty, but the same problem occurs with Windows 11. Considering these issues, would trying a different motherboard help? I doubt it could be the culprit since Windows 10 installs fine. Also, I've reformatted the SSD about six times; am I overthinking the wear on it?

First, check if TPM is enabled in the BIOS. It’s crucial for Windows 11’s installation, and if it’s turned off, that could definitely cause the issues you're seeing. Also, make sure that secure boot is enabled as well.
Make sure your PC meets all the minimum requirements for Windows 11. The Ryzen 7 2700X is officially supported, so that should be fine. Also, some users found success by disabling XMP in their BIOS settings, just to see if it helps boot into Windows 11. It’s worth a shot!
Good idea! I'm going to try that right after work.
If your BIOS shows that it supports fTPM, you should be able to install Windows 11. If it's set to version 1.2, there might be workarounds available online if you encounter further issues. Just look up some guides on YouTube if needed.
Yeah, my motherboard has the fTPM feature enabled, so it should meet the requirement.

Yes, TPM is enabled and secure boot is also on. So that's not the issue.
