Hey everyone! I'm a bit lost when it comes to tech stuff, but my 15-year-old son really wants to build his own PC for Christmas. I came across a couple of RAM options and wanted to know if they're equivalent. One is the Corsair Vengeance RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5, which is pretty pricey. The other one I found on Amazon is cheaper, but I'm not sure about its performance. Is the Amazon RAM comparable to the Corsair one? He originally wanted the Corsair, but if the other option works well enough, I'd love to save some cash. Life's getting expensive! Thanks for your help!

Honestly, right now isn't the best time to buy RAM, but I understand wanting to get your son a nice gift. Both RAMs are functionally similar, but he might prefer the aesthetics of the white one over the black. Just keep in mind that 64GB is pretty excessive at this price point; 32GB is usually the sweet spot for most users.
Does he really need 64GB? Not long ago it was reasonable when prices were low, but nowadays, most people would be better off spending their budget on other components.
You might actually find that getting a pre-built PC is cheaper these days than piecing one together yourself, especially with RAM prices being so high.
Yes, they're functionally identical! Just a heads up though, if your son is mostly gaming, 64GB of RAM is a bit overkill. Most games only need around 32GB, so that might be a better option.
I definitely recommend going for the Amazon RAM. 32GB is more than enough for anything your son might want to do on his PC. Given how RAM prices are now, getting 64GB just doesn't make sense right now.

Totally agree! 32GB is perfect for gaming.
