I'm trying to set up my Magnavox DVD/CD Player (Model: DP100MW8B) with a Coby 5-inch black and white camping TV (Model: CX-TV1). The TV doesn't have RCA ports, but it does have a 'video in' port that looks like a 3.5mm aux input. I bought a 3.5mm to RCA cord and managed to get the video working, but I'm stuck on the sound. No matter how I connect the audio RCA cords, all I hear is static. I noticed there's also an aux port on the front of the TV with a headphone icon, and another port on the back labeled 'ext.ant.' Any suggestions on how to get sound working? Do I need to use an external speaker or something?

Have you considered plugging an external speaker into the headphone port on the front of the TV? That might be a simpler fix for getting sound instead of trying to mess with multiple cables.
It sounds like you're using a 3-pole 3.5mm plug, which may not support stereo audio correctly. You should check if your 3.5mm to RCA cable is a 4-pole version instead, as that might solve the issue with the sound. Also, verify that you're connecting the right color-coded RCA plugs to their respective ports on the DVD player.

If you have a 4-pole cable, that should work better! Make sure to double-check the connections too.
