Hey everyone, I got an email saying my Google Account - tied to my Yahoo email - is being deleted due to inactivity over the last two years. At first, I thought it was spam, but it looks legitimate. I tried to recover the account through the link in the email on both my iPhone and computer, but I keep getting a message saying that it's an unrecognized device and I can't sign in. I've used this Yahoo email plenty of times in the past year without any issues, and Yahoo's site doesn't mention any deactivation. I'm really stuck—any advice?

I think this might be a case of old accounts. I once had an account I didn't use for years, and I couldn’t recover it. I just let it go.
Your scenario sounds like you're dealing with a Google account that uses your Yahoo email. Google and other sites allow this nowadays. If you don’t use that Google account anymore, then it’s okay if they delete it since it won’t affect your Yahoo account itself.
That email sounds suspicious to me. Always better to avoid clicking on links in emails you didn't expect. Just go directly to Yahoo's site instead of relying on links in emails.
But if it's really from Google, then it’s not just spam. Better to verify through their official site.
Actually, Google owns a variety of services, including YouTube, and a Yahoo email can be linked to a Google account. It’s possible you created an account with your Yahoo email ages ago for a Google service, but it got inactive. So, they're just saying they'll delete the Google account tied to it, not your Yahoo email.
That makes sense, but I still got a weird email about it when I tried to log in, and now I'm confused!
Did the email specify which address was linked? I've seen cases where accounts seem active but are tied to old emails that people forgot about. It can be tricky to recover those.
Yeah, it's confusing. I also got a similar email about an account that I used ages ago. I just ignored it because I logged into Google, and everything seemed normal on my end.

I think I'm starting to get it! But what about that email I received when I tried to log in?
