I'm currently working in manufacturing and we use an Access database to print labels for our shipped parts on an Epson LX-350 ESC/P printer. We're using tractor-fed Avery Labels (1" x 3.5") and I've set everything up, but I'm running into a strange issue. Whenever I print multiple labels, the second label seems to shift down by about 0.004 to 0.006 inches, which causes a misalignment after printing several labels. I've tried adjusting the page sizes in both Access and the printer settings, but it continues to happen. Does anyone have insights on why this might be happening or how to resolve it?

If your old printer worked fine, then the issue might lie in the new printer's driver settings. Try switching to a 'RAW' print mode instead of using the Epson driver. That could help stabilize your prints and eliminate the shifting issue.
I've tried a few different drivers without success, but I appreciate the suggestion!
Have you checked if your printer has a 'page advance' setting? Some printers have a feature that adds a bit of extra space between pages to account for tearing the labels apart. Another thing to look into is if there’s a 'retract' setup that makes sure it pulls back to the correct spot before printing the next label. Those could be causing the shifts you're seeing!
That's a good point! I hadn't thought about that. I’ll definitely check the user guide again for those settings.
Thanks for the tip! I'm going to explore those settings.
You could always consider going back to the Okidata Microline if it’s still available. If you’re not attached to the Epson and it doesn’t work out, it might be worth looking into refurb models to save some money.
Yeah, I'm not sure if it's still in production. The Epson is cheaper right now, but if this keeps causing issues I might consider it.
Refurb models can sometimes be a great deal, especially if you find one in good condition!
Good luck! Let us know if that helps!
