Need Help with Owlet Camera Connectivity Issues on Locked WiFi

I recently got an Owlet baby monitor (Cam 2) that only functions on the 2.4GHz WiFi band. However, I'm experiencing connectivity problems, consistently getting an OC20 error when trying to register it on the app. My internet provider has given me a locked router, preventing me from splitting the network or prioritizing bandwidth for specific devices. After several conversations with Owlet support, they suggested two possible issues: the need for a separate dedicated 2.4GHz network, or that my network's upload speed of only 2.1Mbps is the culprit. I'm wondering if there's a cheap way to set up a dedicated 2.4GHz network that routes through my main router. Would that potentially solve the issue?

Given that your upload speed is only 2.1Mbps, simply adding another device might not improve your situation. However, if your monitor and viewing device are on the same network, they should be able to communicate directly. Check if your baby monitor successfully gets an IP address; that means it's connecting fine. The problem could be that your router inadvertently blocks certain traffic between bands. If you can, try to force your phone to connect to the 2.4GHz band (or disable the 5GHz temporarily) and see if the setup works. If it does, then switching back could keep it stable moving forward.

I think you're right! Since the camera and phone are connected internally, the upload speed shouldn't matter. It looks like the camera is definitely on the network if it shows up with an IP address. I suspect the Owlet app itself might be having trouble connecting after the setup. I'll also research how to set my phone to only use the 2.4GHz band.
