Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a new PC and I'm planning to use the RX 9070 XT OC model, possibly the Prime version. However, I've run into a bit of an issue with my power supply (PSU). It only has three PCIe connectors, and one of them is already taken up by the CPU. So, I'm curious if I can connect one PCIe cable to one of the 6+2 pin connectors on the GPU, and then use a dual (Y-split) 6+2 PCIe cable for the other 6+2 pin connector. My PSU is an Enermax Revolution 3, 850W. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

It's best to use at least two separate PCIe cables for your GPU. If you go with the setup you've described—using a pigtail split on one cable to connect to both 8 pin ports—that should work fine. Just ensure your PSU has enough wattage to handle the load. By the way, how many watts do you have in that PSU?
You shouldn't have any issues using a 6+2 connector on your GPU. Just make sure that the cable quality is good. A lot of people do this with their setups without a hitch!
But does that apply to using a Y-split? Aren't there risks with those?
It's an Enermax Revolution 3, 850W!
