I'm upgrading my PC and need a new power supply unit (PSU). I require a minimum of 850W, and I'm looking for something that has high efficiency and supports ATX 3.1. There are just so many options out there! Here are my current specs for reference: AMD Ryzen 9 9800X3D, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Super, ASUS X870 motherboard, two M.2 drives, and a PCIe USB extender. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the PSU tier list for 2025 and aim for something rated B or higher. Definitely stay away from those rated F or C. It can really make a difference in performance and reliability!

While the Montech Century II is often recommended because of its good price-for-performance ratio sitting at A-minus on tier lists, it’s important to note that it has a concerning number of one-star reviews and reports of premature failures. I’d suggest spending a bit more on a brand with a better reputation for reliability. Thanks for the link! What’s the difference between the be quiet! 12M and 13M models?

The Montech Century II is a decent option that’s relatively affordable and holds an 80Plus Gold certification. It's not the absolute best in terms of efficiency by modern standards, but it should get the job done. If you're considering higher efficiency, moving to Platinum or Titanium will be significantly more expensive. I use a Titanium PSU myself, but honestly, it's a bit overkill for the added price.

I heard the Montech doesn't have the best reviews, though. Is it really worth it?
