Experiencing Packet Loss to archive.ubuntu.com?

I've been noticing significant packet loss when trying to connect to archive.ubuntu.com from various locations over the past few weeks. I ran some tests and found multiple IP addresses associated with the host. Has anyone else been experiencing similar issues? Here are the ping statistics I collected: I transmitted 17 packets and received only 12, resulting in about 29% packet loss. In another test, 13 packets were sent with only 5 received, which is a staggering 61.5% loss. I'd appreciate any insights if you've seen this happening too!

It looks like you're not alone! There have been recent issues reported on their status page. Downloads should still function, but traffic is throttled, which could explain your ping issues since ICMP isn't prioritized over HTTP(S) downloads. You might want to check the status updates for more details!

I noticed my own connection issues matched the incident time on that status link, thanks for sharing!

Losing pockets sounds like a nightmare! Where would we stash our phones and wallets? But in all seriousness, packet loss needs to be fixed ASAP.

Which ISP are you using? I’ve seen packet loss on one of the Tele Columbus routes, but other networks seem fine. It might be specific to your provider.
