New CPU Causing DRAM Light Issues and Boot Failure

I just got my 9800x3d and swapped it out for my old 7700x, but now I'm seeing a yellow DRAM light that won't go away. I can't boot up, and this issue persists even with my old CPU. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Asus Gaming B650-Plus Wifi
- RAM: 32GB 5600MHz DDR5, which worked fine with the 7700x.

I've tried reseating the RAM, using one or two sticks in different slots, and I've messed around with all the cables. I also reset the CMOS, but I'm still stuck because I can't update the BIOS since it won't post. Any suggestions?w

UPDATE: I managed to solve it using the BIOS Flashback feature and updated without booting the PC, which got everything working again. It's strange that even my old CPU wouldn't post before this, but at least it's working now! Thanks for the help!

Hey, make sure to check if your motherboard’s BIOS is updated to support the 9800X3D. It's crucial to have the right version before swapping CPUs. You can use BIOS Flashback to update it via USB without needing to boot the PC. Just follow the manual for instructions! Good luck!

I didn’t update it either and I had issues too, but it's weird that even your old CPU wouldn't boot. You might want to flash the BIOS and see if that fixes the problem.

I tried the flashback option, but it just hangs on a solid green light. I checked the USB drive and port—all seems good!

I ran into a similar issue. If you have access to another flash drive, that might help. I switched mine out and it worked like a charm! Just make sure to check that everything is plugged in properly on your motherboard too.

I just tried a different flash drive I had lying around and it worked! Thanks for the tip!

Glad to hear that! Sometimes the simplest things can save a lot of hassle.
