New SSD Installation Causing First SSD to Disappear

I just installed a second M.2 SSD in my PC, but now my BIOS won't detect my first SSD at all. Whenever I try to boot up, I get a message saying 'Reboot and select proper boot device.' My Windows is installed on the first SSD, so I'm not sure what's going wrong. My motherboard is the TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (Wi-Fi) and I've installed an Inland Performance Plus 2TB NVMe M.2 2280 Gen 4x4 SSD. Does anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Another thing to consider is the order of the boot devices in BIOS. Have you checked that your first SSD is prioritized over the new one? Sometimes the new drive can take precedence, causing others to be overlooked.

Have you tried removing the second SSD? If your first SSD shows up again, then it’s likely an issue with how the second SSD is interacting with your BIOS.

Yes, when I take out the second SSD, my system boots normally.

If you still can't get it to recognize both, consider installing the new SSD in a different M.2 slot if your motherboard has one available. This could solve any conflicts.

It might help to check if the BIOS recognizes your first SSD at all with the new one installed. If only the new SSD shows up, then it could be a slot or compatibility issue. You might also want to try switching the slots around if you have options available.
