Noticing High RPU-HR Spikes in Redshift Serverless?

Has anyone experienced a sudden surge in RPU-HR for their Redshift Serverless workgroups around midday on July 31st? I'm managing five AWS accounts, including some non-production ones, and all started showing a 3-5x increase in RPU-HR, which is really worrying given our usual patterns. I've already reached out to AWS support, but I'm curious if this is an isolated incident or if others are dealing with the same issue. Let me know your thoughts!

We've observed a spike hitting about 2.5x our usual rate on the same day. I haven't dug deeper yet, but it does seem like we might have had some one-off activity. I was also in touch with AWS support, but they were unsure of what caused the spike.

For us, it's still showing high usage without returning to normal levels. I talked with AWS support last night, and they couldn't explain the increase either.

Yeah, I've seen multiple reports about unexpected RPU-HR spikes occurring around July 31st as well. It seems like something might have happened on AWS's end. You’re definitely not alone in this; reaching out to AWS support was a good call!

I've shared this issue with our internal teams. If we get any updates, we'll let everyone know here.

Ah, thanks for the reassurance! Just curious, how did you find out about these reports? Any links to where I can read more?
