PC Won’t Turn On After Power Supply Upgrade

I recently received a new power supply unit (PSU) for my PC, which I bought for better performance and future upgrades. Today, I started the installation with a friend's help, but when we switched the old PSU for the new one, the PC wouldn't turn on at all. We even tried resetting the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery, but that didn't work. I reconnected the old PSU to see if it was just the new one, but it didn't power up either. I even attempted to start the PC using the screwdriver method on the power pins, but that was a failure too. I've exhausted all options I can think of, and none of my tech-savvy friends have any clues on what's wrong. Can anyone offer some assistance?

Have you checked if the new PSU even powers on? You can do that by using a method where you power it up without connecting it to the PC first. Just unplug everything from it, plug it into the wall, and see if you can turn it on using a paperclip. This might help determine if the PSU is functioning at all.

Make sure you're not mixing cables between the PSUs. If you used any cables from the old PSU while installing the new one, that could cause issues. It’s important to only use the cables that came with the new modular PSU. This primarily affects the newer models.

Ah, I understand! My old PSU wasn’t modular, so I didn’t mix any cables. But it’s good to double-check.
