Hey everyone! I've run into a peculiar problem since installing the latest cumulative update for Windows 11 23H2. After I attempt to shut down my Dell notebooks, they just turn themselves back on automatically. I've tried a couple of fixes, including disabling "Turn on fast startup" in Power Options and disabling "Allow this device to wake the computer" for the Ethernet adapter, but nothing seems to work. I've checked the BIOS settings too — there's nothing like Wake-on-LAN or Wake on AC enabled. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Have you considered updating to 24H2 or even 25H2? 23H2 is nearing its end of life soon. Some users reported that updating fixed their issues.
There’s a possibility that this issue has been fixed in a newer patch. I found this info about an out-of-band update released to address shutdown bugs. Check it out [here](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-releases-oob-windows-updates-to-fix-shutdown-cloud-pc-bugs/).
Looks like you’re not alone. Microsoft acknowledged that some Windows PCs are having shutdown issues after this update. Check out this link for more info [BleepingComputer](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/microsoft-some-windows-pcs-fail-to-shut-down-after-january-update/). It might give you some ideas on workarounds or fixes!
I'm having the same trouble with my work laptop! When I hit the shutdown button, it just powers back on. It's really frustrating!
Yeah, I've experienced this too! It's like the laptop has a mind of its own.

That's true! But remember, 23H2 Enterprise isn't end of life until the end of this year, so you might still be okay for a bit.
